What is HTML Stands for?

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language

What is HTML?

HTML is a markup language with set of markup tags.

Hypertext refers for the ability to create links for other web pages and web resources.

Markup refers for the ability to create web pages of formatted text and images, videos which computer users can easily understand

Markup language like HTML makes it possible to create web applications that help to communicate with different types of devices and networks all over the world.

HTML markup tags are used to describe the content in a HTML document

Most importantly it’s a language that needs to be learned by anyone who wants to create web sites and web applications.

HTML documents can display in a web browser like chrome, Firefox

HTML <!DOCTYPE> Declaration

<!DOCTYPE html>

HTML <!DOCTYPE> Declaration is used by the web browser to identify the html version that is used to create the particular document and should be the first thing in a HTML document.

 

Document Object Model (DOM) Tree

The HTML DOM tree structure can be shown as followsHTML DOM tree

 

Every thing between opening and closing HTML tag called DOM tree (Document Object Model tree)

Every thing between opening and closing HTML tag is called DOM tree (Document Object Model tree)

<head> element and <body> element are children of the <html> element . <html> element is like a root of the tree. <head> and <body> elements are like branches of the tree.

<head> element is the parent of the <meta> , <title> , <link>  child elements

Every thing inside the <head> element will affect the entire document.

<meta> tag – meta tag gives information about the document

<title> tag – defines the title of the document in the web browser

<link> tag – link tags are used to create links for external documents like external style sheets which is use to format content of the document

Inside the <body> element contains all the content of the documents that is visible to user

<h1> element – the text inside the <h1> opening tag and closing tag describes the header

<p> element – inside the <p> tag we can find the paragraph.
